Haymillian Sees Great Potential in LatAm

Dolores Irazabal, Sales Director at Haymillian for Latin America, tells ttvnews the news the localization company has in store heading to MipCancun.



Founded more than 10 years ago by just three people, dubbing and subtitling company Haymillian operates around the world with a workforce of 800 employees and working in 64 languages.

And as part of its international expansion scheme, Latin America has been a key territory for Haymillian, both in bringing local content to the region and in helping to take Latin American content to the world.

"Here at Haymillian we believe that the Latin American market has a lot of potential, but it hasn't been fully discovered. We just have to look at the great Latin American shows available on Netflix to see the quality content being generated," Dolores Irazabal, Sales Director at Haymillian for Latin America, said to ttvnews.

"But the owners of said content have to know that, in order to be able to export those productions and achieve success in the international market, they have to find a localization partner that can give them good quality dubbing or subtitling, because when the dubbing and subtitling is good, you can somewhat ensure the success of these productions in the international market, " added the executive.

So much so that both Latin American Spanish and Brazilian Portuguese are currently among the most demanded languages in Haymillian.

"The most asked languages that are from and to English, French, Turkish, Latin American Spanish and Brazilian Portuguese," said the executive.

And as she detailed, Haymillian is currently working in the region with companies like ¡HOLA! TV, Miracle TV, Pampa Films and Telemundo, among others.

"And we're also working with international companies that are selling their content in Latin America like Inside TV, TMD and Matchpoint," she said.

In addition, she mentioned that Haymillian's latest venture it’s the opening of a branch in Africa a year ago, which has allowed them to help African companies penetrate the Latin American market, and vice versa.

"This is one of the new things we want to communicate at MipCancun, and although we are strong in Europe and Latin America, there are still companies that don't know us, so we want them to see the quality and speed with which we work," concluded the executive.

Haymillian offers subtitling, dubbing, closed captioning and access services in 64 languages across Latin America and the world.
