MIPCancun 2018 Puts the Spotlight on Co-Production

The fifth edition of MIPCancun will take place from November 14 to the 16 at the Moon Palace in Cancun in the Mayan Riviera, Mexico, where it will welcome over 700 attendees from 42 countries.
 
More than three months ahead of its start, the agenda was presented in Mexico, where Manuel de Souza, Director of Exhibitor Sales at Reed Midem, offered all the details about the event and its new focus on co-production. 
 
“The big news this year will be the co-production side, which will be much more important than last year. We want it to be much more important and visible this time,” de Souza said.
 
In mid-July of this year, the event confirmed the second edition of its Co-Production forum, which will welcome 180 buyers, 200 distributors and 200 co-production execs, making it the biggest networking opportunity in the region. 
 
According to the executive, the matchmaking event will be aimed at facilitating distribution and co-production opportunities, and have an agenda full of one-to-one meetings, round tables, conferences and debates, and more.
 
“It’s a table system where companies will sit face to face to talk about their projects and obviously about financing and commissioning,” he explained.
 
The list of attendees will feature close to 700 executives from 42 countries, “a very important number that will allow the market to develop for the future,” he said.
 
The list of international companies includes major Latin American groups, such as Caracol, TV Azteca or Televisa, as well as others from Europe, North America and Asia.
 
Attendees include Amazon Studios, Amazon Prime Video, A&E Networks, A2 Distribuidora,Beta Films, Mediapro, Gloob - Globosat, FremantleMedia, FOX Networks Group, Sony Pictures Television, Turner Latin America, Ecuavisa, Mega, Cartoon Network Latinoamérica, SPR, National Geographic, CMO Producciones and Animal De Luz.
