Reggaeton star Nicky Jam will have his own biopic with Nicky Jam: El Ganador, a series based on the lie of the artist that's being produced by Endemol Shine Boomdog, and which will be available on Netflix for international audiences on November 30.
The series, one of Netflix's new original productions in Colombia, will later be available for the US Hispanic market and Puerto Rico on broadcast TV thanks to Telemundo. Its premiere date is yet to be confirmed.
With 13 episodes, the new show is directed by Jessy Terrero, and filmed on location in Colombia, Mexico, Puerto Rico and New York.
Season one will focus on the singer's story, from his origins to his rise to the top as a music superstar.
From his humble start in Boston, to his problematic life on the streets, and ultimately his break as the king of one of the most popular music genres; the show is not only about his life, but about the story of reggaeton.
