70 speakers from more than 25 countries, more than 15 professional leagues and tournaments, more than 40 football clubs, and 90 sports-related companies and sponsors will gather in Mexico City on February 20-21 to unveil key aspects of the sports industry.
The inaugural edition of the Sports Anti-Piracy Summit, the first content protection and innovation event focused solely on sports, is taking place on Wednesday, Feb. 20 and Thursday, Feb. 21, at the International Expo and Convention Center of the Mexico City’s World Trade Center.
The ttvmedia-organized event is hosted by Fox Sports and sponsored by LaLiga, Bundesliga, Genius Sports, LTA Hub and Directv, among others.
The organizers have confirmed that the opening words will be by Juan Lozano Tovar, the head of the Mexican Institute of Industrial Property (IMPI, for its acronym in Spanish), who will give attendees a warm welcome.
Next, Carlos Martínez and Daniel Steinmetz, President and Chief Anti-Piracy Officer at FOX Networks Latin America, respectively, will get the ball rolling on a program packed with talks on content protection, technological innovation, business intelligence, fan engagement, eSports, among other business trends.

One of the Summit’s biggest attractions are the keynotes to be delivered by world-renowned names from the sports industry, such as Javier Tebas, president of LaLiga; Miguel Ángel Gil, CEO of Atlético de Madrid; Arne Rees, EVP Strategy, Bundesliga International; Emilio García Silvero, Chief Legal and Integrity Officer at FIFA; Mariano Elizondo, president of Superliga Argentina; Juan Pablo Pareja, president of Universidad Católica de Chile; Luan Knaya, director of Sports Content Alliances at Twitter SpLatam; Jon Cruz, head of Sports Content Partnerships at YouTube; Leo Cesar, head of Sports Partnerships LATAM at Facebook; Raúl Fernández, Latin America manager at Riot Games and Rodrigo Ulibarri, top eSports athlete, set to become one of the most eye-opening subjects to be addressed at the Summit.
It is worth underlining, among the latest additions to the program, the presence of Arturo Olivé, VP & General Manager at NFL México, and Joaquín del Rivero, VP and General Manager LATAM at World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE), who will be part of the panel on “International Competitions in Mexico”; Rodrigo Ares de Parga, president of Club Pumas de la UNAM, who will join the prestigious panel on Mexican football clubs alongside Jorge Alberto Hank, president of Club Tijuana; Alejandro Irarragorri, president of Club Santos Laguna, and Amaury Vergara Zatarain, EVP at Grupo Omnilife/Chivas.
Housed in an exclusive location, the event will feature a selection of TV talent from the world of sports that will provide a red carpet to a networking-friendly VIP environment, along with a market floor that will showcase the latest developments on content protection, digital platforms and technology applied to sports.
