The Rendez-Vous Ends Amid Announcements and Deals

The launch of a new video platform for LatAm by MVS TV and the sale of Premonitions by Federation Entertainment, the sale of kids’ content for HITN and the launch of a kids’ app were some of the announcements made in Biarritz.

In a sea of announcements, the third day of the Rendez-Vous by TV France International ended in Biarritz as the last one with a complete agenda prior to its official end on Thursday.
The list of announcements includes the acquisition of the supernatural thriller Premonitions from Federation Entertainment by MVS TV in Mexico, which ttvnews learned was acquired for a pan-regional streaming platform.
The sale is further proof of Federation Entertainment recent growth, the company led by Pascal Breton, who was one of the four Medal of Honor recipients at Miptv 2018.
The day also saw the announcement that HITN will launch a new app aimed at kids.
In this regard, HITN’s Erika Vogt-Lowell spoke to ttvnews about the quality of kids’ content, often distributed by smaller companies, that fit “the quality parameters we’re looking for, since we will soon be launching a new kids’ app for quality animated series.”
In terms of sales, this was another solid year for French fiction in the international market, following the success found in multiple platforms like Netflix and the interest this has sparked from several networks on an international level.
One of the standouts at the event was the presentation of Chronicles of the sun, the new daily drama by French group France TV Distribution, which was part of the event’s closure through an exclusive event for its attendees.
As far as buyers go, a few from Latin America, the outlook was also positive.
Adolfo Alvarez Rivas from ¡Hola! TV, highlighted the content related to fashion, historic icons and art in general, presented by French companies: “We are seeing biopics about first ladies and historic figures that coincide with anniversaries for next year, in addition to content about decor, housing and fashion, which is really what we are finding at this market.”
