Video content consumption has reached a new milestone: for the first time ever, the number of streaming video viewers is now equal to paid TV subscribers in the US, says a new report by CTA. Consumers now also spend as much time watching videos on TV as they do on other devices.
According to RTL Group, US shows are becoming less attractive for European audiences. The culprits? The rise and success of original local productions and niche shows that have become major hits. The report suggests most output deals with US companies might have to shift to digital and online platforms.
