This week in the news:
Netflix announces second Spanish original. Called Elite, the new teen series is a thriller created by Carlos Montero and produced by Zeta Audiovisual. It will premiere on Netflix in 2019.
The first season will have eight episodes and be shot entirely in 4K.
FOX will launch standalone OTT in Mexico. FOX Premium App will be launched in Mexico in October, directly to consumers as an independent service. It will include the entire Premium package offered on TV.
The launch was announced during the 2017 ConvergenciaShow.MX.
The Girl Named Feriha ends in Chile with a 16.5 rating. Distributed by Calinos Entertainment, the series' finale was the leading show in its timeslot on Mega and became the most successful foreign production in Chilean afternoons.
The Girl Named Feriha is produced by Med Yapim and distributed Calinos Entertainment.
How much is Netflix content worth? Worth an impressive 11 billion dollars, Netflix's net value of content surpasses the combined content assets for Viacom, Discovery, AMC Networks and Scripps Networks. 
Close to 15% (US$ 1.7 billion) corresponds to Netflix original series and movies.
