This Tuesday, Netflix has finally announced the premiere date for the next season of its first Spanish original. Thus, Cable Girls 2 is set to have a worldwide premiere on December 25.
Back at the middle of the year, Netflix announced the renewal of Spanish original series Cable Girls for one or two more seasons. Now, the OTT platform is officially announcing the premiere date for season 2: December 25.
In this way, the new episodes of the first Spanish drama produces in house will be available all around the world at Christmas.
And, as Netflix has previously announced the series will also have a third season that’s already scheduled for 2018.
Cable Girls, like Ingobernable, was one of the first international productions undertaken by the platform after its investment in international content.
Produced by Bambú Producciones, Cable Girls is directed by Ramón Campos and Teresa Fernández Valdés, producers of Spain’s Grand Hotel and Velvet, and co-produced by Gema Neira.
Set in Madrid in 1928, the plot focuses on four girls who start working as telephone operators in the most modern building in the city.
In the new season, the show’s protagonists will be forced to keep a secret that will put them to the test but that, in the end, will make their friendship even stronger.
Blanca Suarez, Nadia de Santiago, Ana Fernandez and Maggie Civantos star in season two alongside Ana Polvorosa, Martiño Rivas, Yon Gonzalez, Borja Luna, Nico Romero and Sergio Mur.
In addition, the cast is also welcoming some new members like Ernesto Alterio and Andrea Caballo, among others.
