Announced earlier this year, Barça Studios will launch its first original production in November: Matchday - Inside FC Barcelona.
The news was announced by FC Barcelona together with Rakuten, its main sponsor, who said the series will be released in Europe in November through Rakuten TV and, later will be released through Rakuten TV or in collaboration with other operators in the APAC region and the US.
In addition, FC Barcelona has reserved the rights to the series in Africa, Latin America, the MENA countries and Canada.
Produced by Barça Studios in collaboration with Rakuten, Rakuten H Collective Studio, Kosmos Studios and Producciones del Barrio, the series will feature eight 45-minute episodes narrated by renowned actor John Malkovich.
It will show exclusive content and images of the life of Ernesto Valverde's men.
"For the first time, television cameras have had day-to-day access to players such as Leo Messi, Gerard Piqué, Marc-André ter Stegen or Luis Suarez, offering a closer and more intimate view of both the moments of competition and their personal life," they said.
"With each episode, viewers will be able to live from within how the players faced these clashes: from their arrival to the locker room until their entry to the field. Likewise, Matchday offers an exclusive testimony of different moments of celebration after a victory and thoughts from the players after a defeat," they added.
The series focuses on the last season of Barcelona and will show unprecedented details of matches like the Classic against Real Madrid or the elimination of the Champions League at the hands of Liverpool.
"The series will also have the testimony of different people who, through their personal experiences, are already part of Barça. For example, the story of Rafa, the fireman who despite having lost his sight in an explosion, continues attending the games that the team plays at Camp Nou, or Andrey, a Russian fan who follows FC Barcelona wherever they play," they said.
