2050 from Vip 2000 and Mondo TV Iberoamerica is one of the selected projects
Among the projects that made the cut are some from Argentina, Chile, Spain, Holland and the US. Up next, every project selected.
Conecta Fiction, an event specializing in in promoting co-productions between Europe and America, revealed on Monday the finalists in the four pitching categories, which will debut on the event’s third edition.
There are three competitions total: the Pitch Copro Series, the Pitch Sgae Foundation, and the Pitch Digiseries. All of them will have live presentations by representatives of each project on Tuesday, June 18.
In addition, the projects selected for Pitch Clips, a call from the Spanish Screenwriters Union, will be shown on screens on different locations within the event’s venue.
On Wednesday, June 19 at 8:00 pm at the Baluarte Chamber Hall’s auditorium, the winning projects will be announced with at least one development contract offered by TVE. On its end, ACORDE will provide music for one of the projects from the Pitch Digiseries session and ARPA ABOGADOS will offer 10 hours of consulting and legal advice for a project that has been presented in any of the 3 sessions of Conecta Fiction 2019.
Pitch Copro Series
In its call for 2019, Conecta Fiction received a total of 117 projects from 13 different countries, including Spain with 48 projects, Argentina and Chile with 20 and a variety of projects sent from countries around the world such as Australia, Brazil, the US, Holland, Mexico, Italy, Peru and Portugal, among others.
The 10 projects selected this year are mostly dramas with thriller and crime elements, and several stories based on real-life events.

6 – El gol más triste. Country: Chile. Producer: Manufactura de Películas. (Period drama)
7 – Avaricia. Country: Holland. Production Company: Lemming Film. (Horror)
8 - Madres del manantial. Producer: El Médano Productions. (Police thriller/ science fiction).
9 - Morir de pie. Country: Spain. Producer: Kaboga Art & Films and Ondenou Audiovisual. (Biographical drama).
10 - 2050. Country: USA. Producer: Mondo TV Iberoamérica. (Science fiction drama).
Pitch SGAE Foundation
On the other hand, the three projects coming from the Laboratory for the Creation of Television Series of the SGAE Foundation have been announced. This pitching session gives authors the opportunity to access production companies, television channels and potential investment partners to facilitate the viability of their products.
The three finalists are:
1 – La obra dance club. Author: Emilio López Verdú. (Drama).
2 - ¿Por qué desaparecieron los hombres? Authors: Pepe Macías and Carla Guimarães. (Comedy, Mockumentary)
3 – La fábrica. Author: Beatriz García Alós. (Social drama).
In addition, it was announced that Malaka, the winning project of the TVE development prize in last year’s edition of Conecta Fiction, will close these pitching sessions explaining its current status.
Pitch Digiseries and Pitch Clips
The session offers an opportunity to present series projects designed and intended for broadcast on different platforms, so that they can be seen through different devices available to all audiences.
