As the date for its second edition comes closer, the organization behind Canneseries announced its official selection of titles for the event to be held on April 5-10 in Cannes, alongside Miptv.
The titles chosen feature productions from Belgium, Germany, Israel, Japan, Norway, Russia, United Kingdom and Spain; with no contenders from Latin America this time around.
Only one Spanish-language series was chosen this year: Déjate llevar, series which Spanish actress, writer and director Leticia Dolera is preparing for Movistar+, distributed in the international market by Beta Film.
The rest of the series chosen were: A New Era / Die neue Zeit (Germany), How to Sell Drugs Online (Fast) (Germany), Junichi (Japan), Magnus (Norway), Nehama (Israel), Studio Tarara (Belgium), The Feed (United Kingdom), The Outbreak (Russia) and The Twelve (Belgium).
Series chosen out of competition were: Vernon Subutex (France), Beecham House (United Kingdom), NOS4A2 (USA), The Rook (USA), Now Apocalypse (USA) and Years & Years (United Kingdom).
The jury will be led by Swizz showrunner Baran Bo Odar (Dark), joined by British author and director Stephen Fry, Italian actress Miriam Leone (Non uccidere), British actress Emma Mackey (Sex Education), Canadian actress and director Katheryn Winnick (Vikings) and French composer Rob (The Bureau).
The organization also announced the titles that will compete in short-form, including Argentine series Noche de amor and Los mentirosos.
The rest of the titles competing are: Do Not Disturb (United Kingdom), Golden Revenge (USA), La Maison Des Folles (Canada), Over and Out (Australia), Teodore. Without the H / Teodore Pas de H (Canada), Robbie Hood (Australia), Simone & Me, A Mechanical Friendship / Simone & Moi, Une Amitié Mécanique (France) and Warigami (Canada).
