With the formal acquisition of FOX still pending despite an initial agreement on the terms, The Walt Disney Company announced this Monday how the international executive staff will be constituted after closing the deal with the Murdoch-owned company.
Diego Lerner, current president of The Walt Disney Company Latin America, was confirmed by Disney as the head executive for joint operations in Latin America.
Carlos Martinez will oversee Disney’s operations in Northern Latin America and Brazil as EVP and GM at Media Networks.
The head exec for Europe and the Middle East will be Rebecca Campbell, president of The Walt Disney Company EMEA, now adding Russia and CIS to her responsibilities.
In Asia, Uday Shankar, current president of 21st Century FOX for Asia and president and CEO of Star India, will be president of Star and Disney India and president of The Walt Disney Company Asia Pacific.
As for content licensing and distribution, Disney’s exec Janice Marinelli will hold the position of President of Global Content Sales and Distribution.
All the above mentioned executives will report to Kevin Mayer, president of The Walt Disney Company’s new direct-to-consumer unit.
“Restructuring our business units outside the US will lead to a stronger and more effective organization, better equipped to tackle the complex changes of the global market,” explained Kevin Mayer.
“Once the acquisition is completed, the three regions shall be led by outstanding and seasoned executives, combining the very best of both organizations,” he added.
