This Monday, February 12, Azteca Uno is premiering the biopic based on the life of Mexican boxing legend Julio César Chávez, co-produced by Disney Media Distribution Latin America, TV Azteca y BTF Media.

On Monday, February 12, Azteca Uno (TV Azteca) is premiering in Mexico the highly anticipated biopic based on the life of Mexican boxing legend Julio César Chávez, co-produced by Disney Media Distribution Latin America, TV Azteca y BTF Media: El César.
 
Produced by Fernando Barbosa, Leonardo Aranguibel, Ricardo Coeto and Francisco Cordero; the series follows the life of the iconic boxer, played by Armando Hernández.
 
The cast also features Marcela Guirado, Héctor Bonillla, Cecilia Suárez, Leticia Huijara, Maya Zapata, Julio Bracho, Gustavo Sánchez Parra, Luis Fernando Peña, Damayanti Quintanar, María Aura, Rocío Verdejo, Alfonso Borbolla, Adrián Makala, Luis Alberti, Johanna Murillo, Gimena Gómez, José Ángel Bichir, Carmen Beato, Iazua Larios and Mario Zaragoza, among others.
 
The series is directed by Alejandro Aimetta and Alfonso Pineda, with production by Mariano Carranco and photography direction by Jerónimo Rodríguez. El César also has an original soundrack played by Molotov.
 
In his boxing career Julio César Chávez defeated 91 opponents, before losing his fight against Frankie Randall. He was World Champion 6 times, achieving during his career a total of 107 victories, 86 knockouts, 6 losses and 2 draws.
 
The series’ premiere in Mexico follows its debut in Latin America on Space and in the US on Telemundo. It will replace the telenovela Las Malcriadas, which is coming to an end.
