FOX Networks Group Latin America continues to strengthen its original content catalog, announcing it has begun production on Ouro Branco ("White Gold").
The new original drama series is based on a real story, revolving around the war between the drug trafficking cartels in Rio de Janeiro in the 90s.
Filming will take place for two months, on locations in Rio de Janeiro and Uruguay.
It's produced by the Barry Company (Faroeste Caboclo, Paratodos), with 10, one-hour episodes set to premiere in 2018 on FOX Premium and the FOX App.
Directed by René Sampaio (Faroeste Caboclo, 4All) and Tomás Portella (Qualquer gato vira lata, El Increíble Hulk) the new series tells the story of Evandro, a young man living in poverty in Rio de Janeiro who joins the army and loses his brother, who's murdered during a drug deal.
His thirst for revenge will awaken his savage side and his strategic mind and coldness will put him at the head of one of the largest criminal organizations in the world, while his success as a drug dealer will call the attention of Morello, a veteran and self-destructing policeman.
On the one hand, a criminal marked by innumerable losses and betrayals; on the other, a hunter who found a lion at his height and who can give him the honorable death he has been looking for for so long.
