According to data from Parrot Analytics, local titles like The House of Flowers, Four Elements Challenge and Exatlón Mexico were some of the most demanded shows in Mexico. Narcos' new season also captivated local audiences.
At the beginning of October, Parrot Analytics' regional director for Europe, Courtney Williams, had claimed that Narcos' new season, Narcos Mexico, would become be the most popular show to date.
And according to recent data from the company, that statement shined true during the week from November 26 to December 2.
Produced by Gaumont Televisión for Netflix, Narcos Mexico ranked as the most demanded digital original show thanks to 9.5 million Average Demand Expressions (ADE).
Although House of Flowers came second to last, the Mexican original from Manolo Caro played homage to local titles together with some other shows featured on the general ranking.
Chilling Adventures of Sabrina lost to Narcos but remained second with 5.6 million ADE. The Top 3 was completed by Stranger Things, another Netflix original which has ranked high in other countries all throughout the year.
It's worth noting that YouTube Premium and Hulu also made it into the list with titles like Cobra Kai and The Handmaid's Tale. The rest is a complete Netflix domination with titles like Marvel's Daredevil, Castlevania, The Last Kingdom and The Haunting Of Hill House.
Mexican realities Four Elements Challenge and Exatlon Mexico, both on the general ranking, are the other two titles that, together with The House of Flowers, became the chosen local productions among audiences.
Televisa's show ranked third with more than 9.8 million ADE, thus coming on top of Azteca Uno's Exatlon, which tallied 7.3 million ADE.
Spongebob Squarepants placed first, followed by The Walking Dead with a difference of 1 million ADE. Narcos, in turn, wasn't that far down the general ranking, placing fourth.
The list got completed with Game Of Thrones, Riverdale, American Horror Story, The Big Bang Theory and The Simpsons.
