Present at the 2019 LA Screenings, the Turkish distributor announced its successful Turkish drama was sold to Chile, Paraguay, Puerto Rico, US Hispanic and Central America (Guatemala, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Honduras and Dominican Republic).

Inter Medya has announced new territories for its successful Turkish drama, Bitter Lands, which has now disembarked in several countries in Latin America and US Hispanic.

Produced by Turkish production company TIMS&B Productions, Bitter Lands has now been sold to Chile, Paraguay, Puerto Rico, US Hispanic and Central America (Guatemala, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Honduras and Dominican Republic).

These sales join several others for the drama since it was introduced to the international market at the last MIP Cancun, including Mexico, Bosnia and Slovenia.

Bitter Lands tells the story of a legendary love that begins in Istanbul during the 1970s and continues in the fertile lands of Southern Turkey throughout the trials of evil, ambition and tyranny.

It asks whether love is eternal against realities of life and tests the resistance of love and the goodness of the human heart amidst a series of turbulent events.

Beatriz Cea Okan, Sales Executive at Inter Medya, said: “Bitter Lands became a phenomenon in Turkey very soon after its launch and we are certain that the hype surrounding the story and characters will reach the entire globe.”

“We are happy to see that the demand for Turkish dramas is still strong and in addition to these new deals, we hope to conclude some ongoing negotiations in various territories soon. We look forward to seeing the series on many international channels.”
