Mega's newest teleseries just completed a week as a timeslot leader and, during this Tuesday's broadcast; it scored 25 rating points, tripling its competition.

First premiered on Tuesday, October 2, Chilean teleseries Isla Paraíso became the latest phenomenon of Chilean TV in just one week on air, following in the footsteps of other Mega titles like Forgive Us Our Sins and If I Were Rich.

In fact, the series made it into the Top 10 of the most watched early-night premieres since 2010 and was the leading show since its premiere. During its broadcast on October 9, it even managed to triple its competition with an average rating of 25 points and peaks of 28.

Falling behind were TVN with 8.1 points, Canal 13 with 5.9, Chilevisión with 4.9 and La Red with 2.0.

Isla Paraíso airs on Mega at 8pm and stars Francisco Melo, Paola Volpato and Andrés Velasco.

It takes place in a small town on the South of Chile that's curiously inhabited just by men. However, it all changes when the town's priest (Velasco) announced a bus full of women is coming to town.

Matías Stagnaro directed the episodes and Alejandro Cabrera, María José Galleguillos, Valeria Vargas and Luis Emilio Guzmán wrote the scripts. Daniela Demicheli executive produces.

Mother Sets a New Record

In addition to Isla Paraíso, Turkish series Mother, distributed by Global Agency, is also breaking audience records in Chile on Mega.

In fact, after its June premiere the show reached its highest average yet with 25.7 average rating points and several peaks of 27 points between 11:11pm and 12:03am, surpassing its closest competitor by 10 points. During the same timeslot, CHV averaged 14.3 points; Canal 13 averaged 7.8 and TVN 7.7.

Since its debut, Mother has been averaging 21.8 rating points, becoming the third most watched Turkish series since 1001 Nights (28.2) and Fatmagul (27.5).
