Premiered on May 29, 2017 on El Trece, this Tuesday in Argentina the telenovela Las Estrellas ended as its timeslot’s leader, same as it was during its more than 170 episodes.
According to ratings’ numbers presented by Kantar IBOPE Media in Argentina, the telenovela produced by Pol-ka registered an average 11.7 rating in its finale, which spiked up to 14.
With these numbers, the show beat its direct competitor and became the second most-watched show of the day in Argentina, surpassed only by Simona, the El Trece-Pol-Ka telenovela, presented as Las Estrellas’ successor.
Starring Celeste Cid, Marcela Kloosterboer, Natalie Pérez, Violeta Urtizberea and Justina Bustos, and distributed by Dori Media Group, Las Estrellas was the bigg standout show in Argentina in 2017.
The telenovela is also proving successful for Dori Media on the international market, where it’s following down Lalola’s footsteps.
“I believe Lalola was one of the greatest telenovelas in Latin America and I am convinced Las Estrellas can be just as successful, with sales all over the world and if all goes well, even an adaptation in the US,” said Nadav Palti, CEO of Dori Media Group.
The telenovela has been sold to FOX in Italy, which will air the finished product dubbed in Italian, as well as Spain, El Salvador, Slovenia, Israel, india and Indonesia.
“In addition, we are in advanced conversations with companies all over the world, including others in Latin America, US Hispanic and Europe,” he added, defining Las Estrellas as a “newnovela”, as it’s mid-way between a traditional telenovela and a US drama.
Las Estrellas tells the story of 5 sisters, who are reunited after their father’s death, who said in his will that they had to manage a hotel together in order to get their inheritance.
