The emblematic series, produced by Contubernio, which has aired on Telecinco since 2007, will finally bow out after 12 seasons. The show's universe, however, will carry on thanks to a spin-off.

The end of one of the most iconic Spanish fiction series on broadcast TV is closer and closer. Comedy What's Yet to Come, which is about to premiere its eleventh season on Telecinco's primetime has confirmed its saying goodbye to the small screen after its 12th season.

According to website TV Formula, Alberto and Laura Caballero, creators of the series, decided that the final season will present 16 episodes to wrap up the story.

However, they plan to continue the stories of several characters in a new series, a spin-off of the current one.

Released in 2007, What's Yet to Come follows the relationships between neighbors at Mirador de Montepinar through surrealist and crazy situations.

It's the longest-running and most successful fiction series from the network - owned by Mediaset Spain - in the last decade. Throughout its ten seasons, the show has hit several audience milestones with numerous episodes exceeding the 4 million viewers mark.

The most watched episode of What's Yet to Come was the premiere of season six, back in 2012, which averaged an incredible 5.4 million viewers.
