MarVista Entertainment continues to bet on original production, announcing new appointments for its newly created Physical Production division.
Fernando Szew, CEO of MarVista, announced the division’s current director, Jennifer Westin, was promoted to the role of SVP.
In her new role, Westin will lead the physical production team, taking advantage of MarVista's growth in original films, series and other forms of entertainment content for partners of the global content platform. She will also oversee the financing of production and postproduction.
Westin will report to the director of operations of MarVista, Tony Vassiliadis.
The company also announced the promotion of Michael Rothman to the position of VP of Physical Production, and the appointment of Michael Meilander as director of Physical Production, who reports to Rothman.
MarVista’s Physical Production division has more than 60 films filmed worldwide in 2019.
"With the significant increase in our production development and supply in recent years, it is crucial for us to create a physical production division in support of our rapid expansion," said Szew.
"With Jennifer at the helm of the team, we are able to provide efficient, cost-effective, centralized and superior service levels to both the creative community and content platforms around the world. And we are intentionally establishing MarVista for continued growth, expanding our seal of physical production throughout the world. "
"International and cross-border productions are an area of growth for us and have begun to take shape through our strategic alliances with Neshama Entertainment in Canada and Hemisphere Media Group in Latin America."
