The Turkish drama, internationally distributed by Global Agency, aired its final episode on Mega as the most watched Turkish show since 1001 Nights and Fatmagul, and the second most watched show on Chilean TV in 2018.
More than five months after its premiere on Mega, Turkish drama Mother aired its final episode in Chile on December 6, and it was a hit.
With an average rating of 22.4 points since its beginning, the show became the third most watched Turkish drama in Chile behind audience phenomenon like 1001 Nights (28.2) and Fatamgul (27.5), both of which aired on Mega as well.
In addition, Mother was the second most watched show of the year on Chilean broadcast TV after Mega's original show Forgive Us Our Sins (27.0 average rating).
According to preliminary data from Kantar Ibope Media, the final episode registered an average audience of 29.5 points and peaks of 32 points between 11:27pm and 00:01am.
During the same timeslot, Chilevision averaged 13.3 points; Canal 13 6.8; and TVN 3.2 points.
The show also Shined on social media networks, where the hashtag #CengizBajoSospecha was the number one national trending topic and the seventh worldwide with almost 10,000 tweets.
Distributed by Global Agency Mother (Anne in Turkish) is a co-production from MedYapım and MF Yapım, which aired in Turkey in 2016 on Star TV.
The drama, based on Nippon TV's Japanese series Anne, tells the story of Zeynep (Cansu Dere), a young substitute teacher who decides to take her student Melek (Beren Gökyıldız) away from her family in order to keep her from being abused by her parents. Thus, Zeynep starts a new life with the girl, becoming her surrogate mother and struggling to raise her on her own.
As of Monday, December 10, during Mother's schedule on Mega, the network will broadcast reruns of original production Hidden Truths, the most watched show on Chilean afternoons.
This will be a temporary broadcast prior to the premiere of My Little Girl, another Turkish drama, this time distributed by Madd Entertainment and also starring Beren Gökyıldız.
