Mother, the Latest Turkish Drama Landed by Nova

The drama series distributed by Global Agency is the latest acquisition of Atresmedia’s female-centric channel, which is yet to premiere Elif, I Named Her Feriha and Lifeline.

The craze for Turkish TV dramas keeps spreading in Spain. Only days Global Agency announced the sale of Erkenci Kus to Divinity (Mediaset Spain), the distributor makes the news yet again, this time on account of the deal landed with Nova. 
 
The Atresmedia-owned channel acquired hit drama series Mother (Anne in Turkish), a co-production by MedYapım and MF Yapım which established itself as the best new show of the 2016-2017 Turkish TV season airing on Star TV. 
 
The drama, based on Nippon TV's Japanese series Anne, tells the story of Zeynep (Cansu Dere), a young substitute teacher who decides to take her student Melek (Beren Gökyıldız) away from her family in order to keep her from being abused by her parents. Thus, Zeynep starts a new life with the girl, becoming her surrogate mother and struggling to raise her on her own.
 
Mother is arriving in Spain after being a smash hit in Latin America. In Chile, where it aired on Mega, the show ended its run as the third most watched Turkish drama nationwide, only bested by juggernauts 1001 Nights and Fatmagül
 
Nova, the leading female-centric channel in Spain over the last 17 months, is thus seeking to extend its good ratings streak brough about by its delving into Turkish content such as Fatmagül, Sila, Kara para Ask, Ezel and Medcezir
 
Apart from Mother, the Atresmedia-owned channel is yet to premiere Elif (Eccho Rights), I Named Her Feriha (Calinos Entertaiment) and Lifeline (ATV).
