Just like they had announced in late April, Movistar launched its new platform Movistar+ Lite this Tuesday in Spain, open to users outside the operator’s client base, in exchange for an 8 euro monthly fee.
The presentation was hosted by Sergio Osle, president of Movistar+, who spoke about the new platform and revealed it will offer a long list of original contents, acquired titles and even sports events.
“Movistar+ Lite will be available for everyone, with no commitment. Through the Movistar+ app, users can access the platform’s TV for only 8 euros a month, with two simultaneous feeds. In addition, we offer a trial month for anyone who wants to get to know us,” he said
The list of titles includes original Movistar+ series and titles like The good fight, Billions, Victoria, La verdad sobre el caso Harry Quebert, El Joven Sheldon, Vis a Vis, The Walking Dead, NOS4A2 and Fear the Walking Dead, among others.
There will be a total of more than 4600 titles.
“Movistar+’s great bet is original production. We’ve already premiered 21 titles and we will continue to promote Spanish talent, which is reaching more people now with Movistar+ Lite,” he said.
In terms of sports, the platform will provide access to over 20 live competitions, more than 50 shows and documentaries.

Among the tournaments that can be seen include the NBA, the Super Cup Endesa, the Copa del Rey, Wimbledon, the Serie A of Italy, the Ligue 1 of France or auto racing like the Indycar.
To all this is added the entertainment programs by Movistar, such as the shows La Resistencia, Late Motiv, Locomundo, Ilustres Ignorantes and Las que faltaban, among others and up to eight live channels (#0, #Vamos, Movistar Series, Movistar Seriesmanía , FOX, TNT, Comedy Central, AMC).
Movistar + Lite will be available from this June 5 through the Movistar + App for Mobile and Tablet (IOS and Android), the Movistar website, several Smart TVs (Samsung, LG and TVs with integrated Android TV), HDMI devices such as Amazon Fire TV Stick and Android TV devices.
