Net TV, Argentina’s new broadcast TV network with national reach, owned by Perfil Network (Editorial Perfil Group) in alliance with Kuarzo Entertainment Argentina (responsible for the network’s programming), is preparing its official debut for “mid-August”, as confirmed to ttvnews by sources from the network.
It’s the first network to join the country’s broadcast TV after 52 years, which currently includes Telefe, El Trece, América TV, Canal 9 and TV Pública.
According to the announcement by Jorge Fontevecchia, founder of Editorial Perfil Group, this new audiovisual project demanded US$ 30 million in a first stage and US$ 20 million at a later stage.
The new network which has been airing its test feed since June, features Martin Kweller, CEO and Chairman of Kuarzo Entertainment Argentina (formerly Endemol Argentina and currently producing shows for Telefe, El Trece, Canal 9 and América TV, in addition to KZO), as the man responsible for Content and Production.
A Network that Bets on Original Production
The network will reportedly include an in-house programming lineup based on news, current affairs, trends and sports, entertainment formats such as Cuestión de peso, as well as a dating show and a teen fiction series, among others.
“TV currently uses all platforms, not only TV screens. It’s also computers, cell phones, and Net TV is born 100% digital and in the XXI century,” Fontevecchia said.
Perfil Network, Editorial Perfil Group’s audiovisual division, is made up by Jorge Fontevecchia (president and CEO) and Juan Cordón (director of Operations), among other executives.
Following the launch of Net TV, a news radio station will be launched in September (Radio Perfil FM) and then a second TV network in 2019.
