Same as the Norwegian version, Movistar+ has launched its new original fiction, the local adaptation of teen phenomenon Skam, without previous notice or major promotion.

Having generated great expectations with a short teaser unveiled on social media, on Thursday, September 6, Movistar+’s new original series, Skam Spain, made its debut.

It can’t really be called a premiere because same as the original Norwegian version, it’s not a premiere per-se. The first content unveiled was an Instagram photo of Eva, the series’ leading character.

The following day, another photo. And on Saturday, the first video made its debut on the Skam Spain website. Then on Sunday at 6:45pm, a new video showed Eva talking to her boyfriend and a friend about starting school the next day, Monday.

Finally, Monday at 8:39am there was another video where they walk into school, followed by a video of Eva meeting Lara, a new classmate, at 11:36am.

These snapshots shown in real time will be part of the episode the pay TV platform will air this first week in Spain. That will be the official premiere for Skam Spain.

Produced by Zeppelin TV, the original Movistar+ fiction revolves around a group of teenagers, their troubles and joys, their identity crisis and search for happiness, delving with issues such as social media, homosexuality, religion or love.

Four seasons aired between 2015 and 2017 in Norway on public network NRK and its original version became a viral phenomenon.

The series is distributed by Beta Film, which has already sold the format in several countries including Spain, France, Germany, Italy, Holland and the US (on Facebook Watch).

To be the link between the main players in the entertainment industry is not an easy task. It means creating a platform aimed at a group of highly informed and demanding professionals. But with great effort and commitment, we did it.
