The second season of the Argentine series has premiere date set on pay-tv network TNT, after which it will land on Cablevisión Flow and Canal 1 on Cablevisión HD. This time, however, it will not air on Telefe.
TNT has official announced the premiere date of A Rooster for Esculapio 2, its hit original drama.
The show will debut on Latin America on TNT on Tuesday, October 16 at 11pm (Argentina) as the only TV screen. Then, starting on October 17, the show will be available on Cablevisión Flow (complete season) and Canal 1 on Cablevisión HD.
All new episodes will air every Tuesday on TNT, while reruns will air every Wednesday at 10pm and Sundays at 12am, also on TNT.
This new information confirms what was expected: season two of a Rooster for Esculapio will not air on Telefe, the broadcast TV network that aired season one.
The TNT original, produced by Underground and Boga Bogagna, in coproduction with Cablevisión Flow, will once again be directed by Bruno Stagnaro.
"TNT has become a generator of quality content for the entire region. A Rooster for Esculapio 2 is a national high quality fiction, with great talent, which has become a cult series," said Mariano Cesar, VP of Content and Brand Portfolio, Turner Latin America General Entertainment.
On his end, Antonio Álvarez, Director of Programming at Telecom said: "Cablevisión is proud to premiere the second season of A Rooster for Esculapio, which is our 10th co-production since we started with this strategic investment project to offer our customers more and better exclusive content on demand."
"The first season had almost 2.5 million views and almost 70% of those who watched the series binge watched it, that is, they saw two or more episodes in a row, and we know that this second season will also be a success," added Álvarez.
On this second season, filmed in 60 different locations, A Rooster for Esculapio will focus on the return of Nelson (Peter Lanzani) after six months of being away from Buenos Aires. There he will meet up with Loquillo (Ariel Staltari) and old members of the gang. However, Nelson will realize that things have changed during his absence, with Yiyo (Luis Luque) taking the place of Chelo Esculapio and as the new leader.
Lanzani and Luque are joined by a renowned cast, including Julieta Ortega, as Nancy; Ariel Staltari, like Loquillo; Cecilia Rosseto, as prosecutor Retes, Andrea Rincón, as Vanesa; and new names, such as Juan Leyrado.
