Talpa has reached a new phase with the recent full incorporation of Dutch network group SBS Broadcasting which operates 4 channels. The Netherlands, the premiere territory for global hit shows such as Big Brother, Deal or No Deal, Fear Factor and The Voice, proves a perfect starting ground for creativity.
SBS now gives us a fantastic platform for continuously launching new formats, developed by our strong content lab. One example is the fixed weekly time slot on Tuesday evening, where Takpa will introduce fresh game show formats on a regular basis.
As a result, the company is proud to introduce this Mipcom its "House of Game Shows", which includes The Perfect Question, 5 Gold Rings, The Big Picture and Divided.
The new game show The Perfect Question is a quiz show upside down… here the contestant is the quiz master at the same time… He is the one who comes up with the questions and asks them to a studio audience of 100 people! The challenge is to ask "the perfect question", meaning a question that triggers 50 correct and 50 incorrect answers. But if you think this is easy, think again!
Design Dream is an exciting knock-out competition in collaboration with Ikea. Six aspiring designers each come up with different ideas to realize the interior design dreams of regular people.
Best of 2, an ultra-varied entertainment show, gives people with special skills their minute of fame. The audience decides who is the best of 2.
Another new introduction is Human Knowledge, in which two celebrities must guess how regular people will behave in various situations. From hilarious scenes to awkward moments, this show is currently breaking records on TV and social.
Talpa's dating phenomenon Dating in the Dark, aired in 25 countries, is back. But this time as an exciting spin-off celebrity version.
And in the retrotainment studio show A Year to Remember viewers literally go back to one specific year in the past. Two witty celebrity captains both team up with a guest celebrity that actually experienced the year in question. Together with the audience of one hundred youngsters they answer questions about the featured year. A year to remember is nostalgia, astonishment, feel-good and entertainment in one!
In the scripted category, Talpa recently launched Good Time Girl, which has secured fantastic ratings in the Netherlands. Good Time Girl is a drama series about a housewife who, after she finds out that her husband is cheating on her with her half-sister, regains her independence by becoming a high-class escort girl.

"The recent win of our 4th Emmy for The Voice and the recognition of John de Mol named International Reality Producer of the Year by The Hollywood Reporter, furthered our ambition to develop a new reality format of unprecedented scale; a global experiment, so daring that we can’t yet predict what the outcome will be. This format will be revealed on Monday October 16th at Mipcom," said Maarten Meijs, Managing Director of Talpa Global.
"We have high expectations for this market and are very excited to showcase our broad range of formats that reflect our diversity across all genres."
