The Televisa and La Competencia format, Stand Up For Your Country, continues to be adapted internationally, with Italy as the latest country on the list.
This Friday, Italian pubcaster RAI will premiere the local version of the format, titled Standing Ovation.
Italy now joins the other eight countries who've adapted the format, including the US, Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, Spain, Holland, Poland and Russia. The show is also in pre-production in France.
The rights have been sold in addition to another 20 countries in Europe, America and Asia.
Stand Up For Your Country was presented for the first time at Mipcom 2014, a market where it was also chosen as one of The Wit's "fresh" formats.
The format looks for the best musical duo of parents and kids. Contestants have to showcase their vocal range and be complicit with the audience at the studio, who must show their support for the singers by standing up.
For each audience member who gets up after each performance, the contestants receive a point that adds to the assessment made by a specialized jury that remains isolated from the public.
