Viacom International Studios (VIS), The Mediapro Studio, Telecom and Olympusat announce the start of filming Los Internacionales, a true crime drama series based on the Argentinian crisis of 2001 and the band of thieves that took advantage of a country in trouble. The series will be seen on Telefe and OnDemand by Flow, the multiplatform of Telecom content.
Los Internacionales tells the story of notorious Colombian criminals who decide to travel to Argentina to carry out robberies and dismantle the assets of a society on fire. In 2001, many Argentines were forced to remove their savings and belongings from banks in the face of deep political and economic crisis. The band of thieves take advantage of the chaos to carry out their robberies throughout the country coveting money, jewels, destroying families and their possessions, and in their wake becoming infamous crime legends.
The series is based on The Bogotá Connection a journalistic account of the crisis by Nahuel Gallota. Currently filming in the city of Bogotá, Colombia, and continuing through mid-December at locations in the city of Buenos Aires, Argentina, Los Internacionales is scheduled to premiere for audiences in 2020. This co-production has garnered the support of INCAA (National Institute of Audiovisual Arts).
Los Internacionales stars renowned Argentinian actres Cecilia Roth, as prosecutor Marta Costas and Juan Pablo Shuk, in the role of Fausto, one of the thieves. The ensemble cast includes Rafa Ferro, Boy Olmi, Carlos Santamaria, Gustavo Garzon Rami Herrera, Sabastián Osorio, Camilo Amores, Christian Vega, Laura Perico and Susana Varela.
Cecilia Roth, has won several international awards and participated in numerous multi-award-winning films and series: All About My Mother, Martin H, History of a Clan, The Angel, Pain and Glory, among others. Colombian actor Juan Pablo Shuk has played different roles in important series such as El Barco, El Ministerio del Tiempo and Narcos.
