Keeping in the tradition of previous biblical dramas, Record's Apocalypse broke audience records and consolidated the second place with a special broadcast on February 6, reaching 11 rating points and 16% share.

Record's biblical phenomenon is giving no signs of stopping. After the major success of productions like Moses and the Ten Commandments, The Promised Land and The Rich and Lazarus; Apocalypse has now proven to be another for the record book.

The latest in bible-related fictions from record premiered back in November of 2017 and captivated 14 million viewers in Brazil during its first initial 15 broadcasts. And now, with the special broadcast of 'The Rapture', the show keeps on winning.

Broadcasted this past Tuesday (Feb. 6), the episode recorded the best audience numbers of 2018 for the telenovela in Rio de Janeirio, region which usually outperforms all others in the country.

There, Apocalypse marked an average of 11 rating points - with peaks of 12 - and a share of 16%, consolidating the second place isolated with a four-point advantage over its closest competitor, which registered 7 average points.

In Sao Paulo, another hit region for Record, the episode registered a peak of 12 points and a share of 14%.

With 170 episodes, and written by Vivián de Olvieria, Apocalypse imagines how the last book of the New Testament, The Book of Revelations or San Juan's Apocalypse, could come to life: with a choral, ambitious and international plot set in Brazil, Italy, the US and Israel.

The series can be classed as a super-production, with major visual effects and a highly curated cinematography. And, what sets it apart from its predecessors the most: it's set in modern times.

The story is carried out in different time periods, combining biblical and present times, and even delves into the future and what the world will look like after the prophecy comes true; after the apocalypse.

Starring Juliana Knust, Igor Rickli, Sergio Marone, Paloma Bernardi and Juliana Silveira, among others, Apocalypse comes to the market as a new Casablanca Estudios production for Record under the directorial efforts of Edson Spniello.
