Absentia, a Crackle original
Claro Video’s streaming service has announced Crackle will now be included as part of its entertainment offering in Latin America, with Mexico as the first market to launch the service.
"The launch of Crackle as part of Claro Video allows us to expand the presence of our service in one of the most important digital platforms in the Latin American market, which is currently one of the main sources of entertainment for the regional public," said José Rivera Font, vice president and general manager of SPT Digital Networks Latin America.
His statement came after Claro Video announced on Monday the addition of Crackle, a SPTN Latin America digital platform, to its entertainment offer in Latin America.
Following the news, Mexico will be the first market to launch the service and consumers will be able to subscribe to Crackle via Claro Video starting this month of November.
Claro Video users in the country will be able to subscribe to Crackle enjoying an one month free trial, and then a monthly fee of 49 Mexican pesos (US$ 2.57) which can be charged to their bills with Telmex, Telnor, Telcel or paid independently with a credit card.
"This agreement also underscores our desire to strengthen the offering of our business partners with initiatives that respond to new content consumption habits in Latin America," added José Rivera Font.
For his part, Andrés Vázquez del Mercado, general director of Claro Video, highlighted: "With the arrival of Crackle we continue expanding the scope of our service. Claro Video is a dynamic service that provides different proposals for consumers to select the contents they are interested in and we are very excited".
The release alongside Claro Video joins previous releases in several countries like Mexico with Dish, TotalPlay and Axtel Play; in Honduras with Tigo, in Brazil with Oi, Net and Claro, in Ecuador with TV Cable, in Argentina with Gigared, in Guatemala and Costa Rica with Tigo, in Uruguay with TCC and Telespectaculo, in Colombia with ONE TV, in Panama with Cable Onda and in Bolivia with Cooperativa Cotas.
Claro video users can view Crackle’s content on PC, Smart TVs, tablets and smartphones with an Internet connection.
Among Crackle’s content we can find original series such as Absentia, Preacher (season 1 and 2) and Startup. In addition, there are full seasons of some of the most popular pay-tv series like Criminal Minds, Scorpion, Secrets and Lies, The Trap, NCIS, American Crime and Black-ish, as well as a wide range of blockbusters from some of the main Hollywood studios.
These contents are available without commercial breaks and in HD, with the option to choose between the original language (subtitled) or dubbed in Spanish/Portuguese.
To be the link between the main players in the entertainment industry is not an easy task. It means creating a platform aimed at a group of highly informed and demanding professionals. But with great effort and commitment, we did it.
