Produced by Globomedia for Antena 3, the show Lifeline, still airing in Spain, has just added an important international deal which will allow it to reach competitive markets in the US and the UK.
The streaming platform Walter Presents, from Channel 4 and Global Series Network, has just acquired the Spanish series for its broadcast in the US and UK. The deal was closed by Imagina International Sales (Mediapro).
Walter Presents is the streaming platform from Channel 4 that specializes in International quality series, with an offering of titles selected by the renowned international content influencer Walter Iuzzolino, chief creative officer for Global Series Network.
Iuzzolino had already previously selected Vis a Vis for the platform, which had become by then the first Spanish series broadcasted by Channel 4 in the UK.
In addition to the deals closed with Walter Presents for the US and UK, Lifeline has just been acquired by Netflix in Latin America, while it can also be seen on Atreseries Internacional, which debuted the show this past February 10th.
Produced by Globomedia (Grupo Mediapro), Lifeline is a thriller starring Pablo Derqui, Leonor Watling, Meritxell Calvo, Ingrid Rubio and Juan Diego Botto, which narrates the investigation launched by a neurosurgeon who, after a recent heart transplant, looks tosolve the mysterious death of his donor.
The series has a closed ending that will allow viewers the chance to get to know the outcome of the storylines played by Álex, Blanca, Marian and several other main characters.
In the latest edition of Miptv the series had been selected by the consulting firm The Wit as one of the "freshest" dramas in the market.
With this new sale, Atresmedia continues to cement its position as the Spanish group that exports the most content, with Lifeline joining the likes of Velvet, Gran Hotel (both available in more than 110 countries), Mar de Plástico (70 countries), Vis a Vis (65 countries), El Secreto de Puente Viejo (50 countries), El Barco, El Internado (both in more than 35 countries each) and El tiempo entre costuras (in more than 45 countries), amongst others.
