I Sang It My Way, Loro Viejo, Never, Popular Belief and The Best in History have been named the five finalists for the MIPFormats International Pitch. Here's all you need to know about the projects.
Five finalists have been named for the MIPFormats International Pitch competition, the incubator for the best in unscripted TV formats that takes place in Cannes, France, on 1-2 April 2017, ahead of the global entertainment content market, MIPTV, which runs 3-6 April.
Among the projects to be presented to the jury there is I Sang It My Way, from UK's Malarkey Media; Loro Viejo, from Colombia's Esuna Casa Audiovisual; Never, from Israel's Anat Nir; Popular Belief, from USA's The Concept Collective; and The Best in History, from Spain’s Pausoka Entertainment.
The five projects will be presented live on stage to a prestigious industry jury comprising: Fabrizio Battocchio, Format and Head of Factual, Mediaset RTI (Italy); Karin de Groot, Channel Manager, SBS6 (Netherlands); Philipp Schmid, Creative Director/Deputy Managing Director, Tower Productions (Germany); Layla Smith, CEO, Objective Media Group (UK); and Nick Smith, SVP International Format Production, all3media International (UK).
"We are delighted that this year’s MIPFormats International Pitch has seen entries from a record 28 countries, with over 100 ideas submitted," said Louise Pedersen, CEO of the sponsor, all3media International, which is backing up the competition for the third time.
"As a global event, it’s noteworthy that we received entries from across the world, with pitches received from producers in China, Syria, South Korea, Ireland, Israel, and elsewhere, making it a truly international selection."

I SANG IT MY WAY
From Malarkey Media (UK), I Sang It My Way is an exciting new spin on the music-based shiny floor show – a fun, inspirational competition in which contestants compete to interpret well-known songs in different musical genres.
