Titled Déjate llevar, the project is spearheaded by Catalan actress, scriptwriter and director Leticia Dolera and will follow the lives of three women. Shooting will begin in Barcelona on September.

Spanish operator Movistar+ continues its unstoppable foray into original productions with a new announcement for this year: Déjate llevar.

The new series will be spearheaded by Catalan actress, scriptwriter and director Leticia Dolera and is expected to start shoots in September.

According to Dolera, who posted on social media, the series is comprised of eight episodes and will follow the lives of three women: María, Cristina and Esther.

Dolera handled the scripts with Manuel Burque and will direct the vast majority of the episodes, which will are set on Barcelona and will shoot on location.

"Three years ago I began to develop the story of these three women, María, Cristina and Esther, who are going through a life crisis (for different reasons) and who will discover that their lives don't really have to go according to their plans," she explained on her Instagram account.

"As this was (and is) a long, arduous and exciting journey I looked for the best co-writer and ally, someone I admire very much for his talent, sensitivity and ability to work. I'm talking about comedian, actor and scriptwriter Manuel Burque. We've written eight scripts together, like eight small movies that helped us grow as scriptwriters and learn a lot of things that turned us into even better friends," she added.

Déjate llevar will join the long list of projects launched by Movistar+, in addition to those that are already in the pipeline.

Among them there's Velvet Collection, The Zone, Spanish Shame, The plague, Look What You've Done, Felix and Matar al Padre.

And others in the pipeline like Déjate llevar, Instinto, Arde Madrid, staring Ava Gardner; family drama Giants; animated series Virtual Hero; a drama set in the 60s and 70s called El día de mañana; the first Atresmedia Studios series El Embarcadero; a Spanish-French co-production titled Hierro; and the adaptation of teen drama Skam.

During the recent edition of Conecta Fiction, Movistar+' Head of Production and Commercial Affairs, Ismael Calleja, told ttvnews that a total of 11 titles will be released this year, and the number is expected to rise for 2019.
