The American network NBC has commissioned the development of a local adaptation of Telefe's Love After Love to Kapital Entertainment. It will air under the same international title for the format.

The Argentine telenovela Love After Love (also known as Amar después de amar) continues to grow internationally after several international sales. This time, it does so with an American adaptation that follows one commissioned in Mexico.

The news comes from specialized media Deadline, which claims the American network has commissioned the development of a local adaptation to Kapital Entertainment.

The project will have Lisa Takeuchi Cullen as executive producer, together with Kapital Entertainment's Aaron Kaplan and Telefe's director in the US, Diego Piasek.

The US version will air under the same international title for the format, Love After Love, and comes as a collaboration between Telefe, NBC and Kapital Entertainment after a similar agreement announced in 2016 for the US adaptation of A Year to Remember.

Thus, the show from NBC might become the second international adaptation for the Argentine telenovela following its adaptation in Mexico. The Mexican version, titled Caer en Tentación, has already premiered on Las Estrellas (Televisa).

In addition, Love After Love has closed several international sales to countries like Chile (Chilevisión), Vietnam (Phu Thai Media) and The Middle East and North Africa with Eagle Films Middle East, company that also acquired the format.

Love After Love tells the story of a friendship between to married couples and how it develops as a result of a forbidden love.

In Argentina, the show stared Mariano Martínez, Isabel Macedo, Eleonora Wexler and Federico Amador.

With a January 23 debut and a total of 70 episodes, Love After Love managed to become the most watched fiction series in Argentina, with an average of 12.1 rating points.

The premiere reached 12.3 rating points and reached a peak of 14.6 on January 25 and February 6. The finale, which averaged 14.3 points, became a worldwide trending topic with the hashtag #AddaElFinal.

The telenovela was also chosen as one of the freshest fictions in the international market by The Wit back at Mipcom 2016.
