The international production from Globo, in collaboration with Oficina Burman, Mediaset España, Mexico's TV Azteca and Uruguay's Teledoce, is said to be "coming soon" to Argentine broadcast TV.

Almost a year since it began shooting, the much anticipated series Supermax is finally coming to screens. In fact, it's said to be "coming soon" to TV Pública Argentina.

The show is the first Globo original shot in Spanish and produced specifically for the international market. As such, the Brazilian company is hoping to "reach more than 500 million Spanish-speaking people," according to Raphael Corrêa Netto, Globo's Head of International Business.

Since its launch, the production was presented by Globo as an alliance with Oficina Burman, from Argentine director Daniel Burman, and with TV Pública Argentina (TVP).

The latter was instrumental in facilitating the shooting in Argentina and will now be the official window for the show on broadcast TV in the country. Brumkan, on his end, acted as creative director.

Later on, the show added more strategic partners like Mediaset España, Mexico's TV Azteca and Uruguay's Teledoce.

Supermax tells the same story as the Brazilian drama of the same name, and takes place on a maximum security facility located in the middle of the desert that has been closed for years after becoming the scene of a bloody massacre during a mutiny. After being transformed into a reality-TV set, eight contestants will stay there to compete for a US$ 2 million price while on the outside audiences will follow their physical and psychological challenges that these people must face in order to reach the finish line.

The cast for this Latin American version of the show includes Argentina's Cecilia Roth, Antonio Birabent, Alexa Moyano, Laura Novoa, Guillermo Pfening, Juan Pablo Geretto and Nicolas Goldschmidt, Spain's Santiago Segura, Cuba's Rubén Cortada, Uruguay's César Troncoso, Mexico's Alejandro Camacho and Brazil's Laura Neiva and Felipe Hintze.

Supermax (10 x 1') is coming to Miptv as part of Globo's international catalogue.
