The season three debut of Netflix's Mexican original Club de Cuervos turned the show into the most wanted one in the country, even coming on top of shows like Game of Thrones. This, according to a ranking from Parrot Analytics.
With the premiere of its third season on September 29, the Netflix original series Club de Cuervos became the most wanted show in Mexico for the week between October 2nd and 8th. The data comes from the latest ranking by Parrot Analytics given to ttvnews.
This feat showcases the success of the series in Mexico and the company's clear localization strategy, which considers the Aztec country as one of the key markets for original productions outside the US.
In addition to Club de Cuervos, the platform has already premiered Ingobernable, which is coming back for a second season; and is preparing La casa de las flores, a show created and directed by Manolo Caro; and Diablero, its fourth original in the country.
As for Club the Cuervos, the show came on top of other shows like Game of Thrones with 35.237.695 demand expressions. The epic HBO drama took second place with 33.5 million demand expressions.
The Top 3 was completed by The Walking Dead with 17.7 million demand expressions. The show is currently gearing up for its eighth season.
The general ranking also includes series Without Breast there is Paradise as the 5th most demanded show.
As for digital series, Netflix dominated the Top 10, taking over every slot as is the trend in Latin America.
The number one spot went, of course, for Club de Cuervos, with numbers five times higher than its closest competitor, Stranger Things, with 7.6 million demand expressions.
Third place went for another Mexican original: Ingobernable, with 3.2 million demand expressions.
Other highlighted content includes Star Trek: Discovery, which has just premiered on Netflix as the first window outside the US; 13 Reasons Why, which continues to rank high months after its premiere and which was the most demanded Netflix original in Latin America during the first eight months of 2017; and Castelvania, an animated show that, in spite of little marketing, has made some noise in the region.
To be the link between the main players in the entertainment industry is not an easy task. It means creating a platform aimed at a group of highly informed and demanding professionals. But with great effort and commitment, we did it.
