The production company behind the animated series has closed a deal with Japan's Aquí Media for the commercialization of Pocoyo on TV and VOD, in addition to handling the marketing and licensing of the brand in the region.

Spanish company Zinkia Entertainment, which produces beloved series Pocoyo, is looking to expand the kids' brand in Japan, and has just now given a first major step towards growth in the region with a deal with Aquí Media.

Under the agreement, the Japanese media and marketing company founded and directed by Spanish-born Jesús Perezagua will handle the commercialization of Pocoyo on TV and VOD, in addition to the marketing and licensing of the brand in the region.

As such, since this past July 3, Japanese audiences have been able to enjoy every episode from the first three seasons of the show on every media under the Aquí Media umbrella, including TV and apps for iOS and Android.

In addition, the Japanese company will manage marketing and licensing, exploiting other products that stem from the show like toys, clothes and books; together with all promotional activities, events and shows that are connected with Pocoyo.

"This collaboration with Zinkia for the introduction and development of the Pocoyo brand is one of our priorities in the Japanese market. The high quality production combined with the educational and playful approach of the show makes it the perfect match for our company's aim here in Japan," mentioned Jesús Perezagua, founder and CEO at Aqui Media.

This major deal falls under the strategic plan designed by Zinkia to expand the Pocoyo brand internationally, which targets 12 territories. Japan takes up a spot at the top of the list because of its importance on the entertainment industry.
