The event will feature relevant discussions led by leading names in the eSports sector.

The Sports Summit, the largest B2B event in the sports industry in Latin America, and Player1 Gaming Group, Globo’s gaming and eSports spin-off, announced a strategic partnership for the launch of the eSports Summit, which aims to elevate the theme of electronic sports beyond the gaming industry.

This pioneering partnership between the two organizations seeks to drive discussions around eSports, exploiting its potential as a form of engagement, entertainment and business.

“The games market in Brazil had a turnover of R$ 1.2 billion in 2022, a number that’s set to double until 2026, while there’s talk about converting eSports into an Olympic sport. The Sports Summit, evidently, as a platform for connecting the sports market, has a central role in integrating all sports: traditional and electronic. We will have a lot of content and big names,” explained Fernando Young, CEO of Sports Summit.

Leandro Valentim, CEO of Player1 Gaming Group, highlighted the accelerated evolution of electronic sports in terms of audience, awards and importance. Examples such as the League of Legends World Cup, which has had audiences greater than 100 million, equivalent to the SuperBowl, or The International, by Dota, has already paid more than R$ 200 million in a single tournament. And in recent months, we saw the announcement of the eSports World Cup, made by Prince Bin Salman of Saudi Arabia, alongside the president of FIFA, Gianni Infantino, and football player Cristiano Ronaldo; and we saw the definitive entry of the IOC into eSports, with the holding of the Olympic Esports Week and the news of plans to create the eSports Olympic Games.

The eSports Summit will represent a unique merger of knowledge and resources from the two companies, uniting the authority and strategic relationships established by Player1 Gaming Group in the eSports sector since 2017 with the sports business environment of the Sports Summit in the countries in that is present.

The eSports Summit will bring eSports curation, with relevant discussions led by big names in the eSports sector, held in the Sports Summit venue. These conferences and panels will address various aspects of the eSports landscape, from trends and innovations to challenges and opportunities for the future. An arena with an immersive experience that will address the connection between physical and electronic sports. Participants will have opportunities to interact directly with influencers, games and competitions.

The panels will bring discussions about the connection between traditional sports and gaming, with big names confirmed such as Matías Portela, CEO of the eSports organization KRÜ, an organization founded by Kun Agüero, which saw Messi enter the society, with Bruno «Playhard» Bittencourt, CEO of LOUD, an organization that stands out in Brazil and the world, and which announced the arrival of Vini Jr. as a partner. Also, as high points of the discussion on eSports, the NBA will be present, with Rodrigo Vicentini, Country Manager; RIOT Games and Ubisoft, with their eSports leaders, respectively, Igor Correa and Leandro Estevam.
