Nails tells the story of Lina, Vanessa, Irene and Marilís, four women from different backgrounds and of different ages who meet in a nail salon
SkyShowtime announced the premiere of its SkyShowtime Original series, Nails, which will be available on October 6. Produced by Federation Spain in association with SkyShowtime and in collaboration with Telemundo Studios.
Nails is created, written, and directed by Araceli Álvarez de Sotomayor, who also serves as creative executive producer alongside Mario Montero. Laura Oliva and Juan Solá will be the executive producers.
Araceli Álvarez de Sotomayor, creator, writer, director and creative producer, said: “Nails is a rebellion against the current reality women have to face: impositions, chronic stress, expectations, judgements and labels. The protagonists dare to say ‘enough’ and set up ‘The Free Women’s Club’, a safe space where they are not required to be perfect and can share secrets.”
Kai Finke, Chief Content Officer at SkyShowtime said: “We can’t wait for audiences to discover Nails, our new Spanish SkyShowtime Original series. This hilarious, fast-paced comedy from Araceli Álvarez de Sotomayor engages from the start and has strong relatable characters brought to life by a compelling cast.”
Nails tells the story of Lina, Vanessa, Irene and Marilís, four women from different backgrounds and of different ages who meet in a nail salon. Their repeated encounters spark a unique friendship, turning them into partners in crime and influencing the most important decision of their lives: to rebel against their reality and reject who they have become. What happened to their right to choose? Are they victims of what is expected of them? This non-conformism, paired with a feeling of sisterhood, leads the protagonists to create ‘The Free Women’s Club’ – a safe space intended to help other women solve their problems.
