Exactly one year since the announcement of the opening of Digitoonz Media & Entertainment’s new European headquarters in Madrid, led by María Bonaria Fois, the Spanish executive was present at MipJunior to present the latest developments from the Indian animation studio.

“At Digitoonz in Spain, we began offering the Indian studio’s animation services last year. At the same time, we are also looking for IPs to co-develop and co-produce, in addition to building a distribution catalog,” María Bonaria began speaking with ttvnews from the event in Cannes.

The executive announced that the group is currently working on two new projects to produce in India, where they will provide the animation service and distribute one of them in the country.

“And also, in terms of our IPs, we have a co-production with Morgana, the Spanish studio with which we co-produced YugiBao,” she added. “We have a 50/50 joint ownership. And this project is among the five finalists in the MipJunior pitch. We are very excited.”

“The other is Drilo, a Spanish IP, for which we are developing the series,” she explained. Born as a musical project under the artistic direction of renowned children’s composer Andrés Meseguer, La Pandilla de Drilo fuses original songs, dance, and theater, and has established itself as a benchmark for family entertainment in Spain for more than 15 years.

This alliance marks a new chapter in its history, with the goal of developing its narrative universe and strengthening it as a global, multi-format IP with a solid identity in the field of children’s entertainment.

“Finally, we’re working on content distribution, especially in Europe and Latin America, where we’re strongest, with an eye toward the Asian market as well,” she concluded.
