The company closes its participation in this year’s Cannes market with the signing of important agreements.

The Mediapro Studio Distribution concludes its time at Mipcom with an excellent reception for its content, which has resulted in significant international distribution agreements. These include the fiction series The Five and Celeste, and the documentary Real Madrid: How Can I Not Love You? All acquired by leading international broadcasters.

The international series The Five, co-produced by Moonage Pictures, by NWR, and The Mediapro Studio for the BBC, is based on the popular adventure novels by British writer Enid Blyton. The Mediapro Studio Distribution represents the distribution rights for Spain, Portugal, and Latin America. The series has been acquired by Televisión Española for broadcast in Spain and by SIC for its premiere in Portugal.

Considered by BBC Studios to be one of its most ambitious youth series to date, The Five is co-created by Danish director Nicolas Winding Refn (Drive, Only God Forgives, Valhalla Rising) and Matthew Read. The adaptation has been designed and reimagined for today’s global audiences.

Another series that stands out in international markets is Celeste, created by Diego San José and co-produced by The Mediapro Studio and Movistar Plus+. The series has consolidated its international presence after receiving awards for Best Series and Best Actress (Carmen Machi) in the International Panorama section of Series Mania, and Best Comedy Series at the Italian Global Series Festival. At Mipcom, Celeste has confirmed its upcoming premieres on Be TV (Belgium), the Franco-German public broadcaster ARTE, RTS (Switzerland), and SBS (Australia).

The documentary series Real Madrid: How Can I Not Love You?, a Wakai Media production in collaboration with Real Madrid C.F., whose international rights are represented by The Mediapro Studio Distribution, has also received excellent reception. The title has been acquired by SKY Italia and Canal+ Africa, and will also soon be available in Japan, Turkey, MENA, and Cyprus.

In addition, the company has closed new deals for the action thriller Hunting Ava Bravo, co-produced by The Mediapro Studio, Top Dead Center Films, and Wild Sheep Content. Directed by Gary Auerbach and starring Kate del Castillo, who also serves as executive producer, the film continues its international sales journey with the confirmation of its release on two new operators: Paramount+ France and Media4fun Poland.

Finally, the library content included in The Mediapro Studio’s distribution portfolio continues to attract international buyers. This is the case with the film Three Steps Above Heaven, the romantic hit directed by Fernando González Molina and starring Mario Casas, which remains unbeatable in international markets and has renewed its broadcast agreements in Germany, the United Kingdom, the Balkans, and Asia this year alone.
