Samsung TV Plus surpassed Pluto TV this quarter, securing its position as Europe’s highest-revenue FAST platform.
Samsung TV Plus has become the highest-grossing free ad-supported television (FAST) platform in Europe, overtaking Pluto TV, which has historically led the segment. The shift comes amid strong growth across the European FAST market, driven mainly by services embedded in connected TVs.
Over the past twelve months, FAST pure-players in Europe increased revenues by 33%, reaching a total of €630 million. This growth was achieved despite the phase-out of Freevee toward the end of last year, which moved one of the top ten FAST players into Prime Video’s mostly paid environment.
Connected TV services Samsung TV Plus and LG Channels were by far the biggest contributors to this expansion. Each generated more than €15 million in additional revenues compared with Q3 2024, together accounting for 71% of the total market growth.
Fox’s Tubi and Paramount’s Pluto TV ranked third and fourth respectively, contributing a significantly smaller share to overall growth. While Pluto TV has long dominated the FAST landscape in Europe, rising competition and flattening user engagement have reduced its lead.
As a result, Samsung TV Plus surpassed Pluto TV this quarter, securing its position as Europe’s highest-revenue FAST platform.
