The Floor is an original format created and distributed by Talpa Studios, co-produced by RTVE and Satisfaction Iberia.
The Floor returns to RTVE for its second season, reinforcing all the elements that made it the channel’s most competitive game show of the last 23 years. The format comes back with major new features that raise the level of excitement, tension and spectacle in every episode.
In The Floor, 100 contestants compete on a giant LED board divided into 100 squares, each one linked to the specific field of knowledge of the contestant who occupies it. The objective is clear: conquer the board, eliminate opponents and become the last contestant standing, winning a €100,000 prize.
This second season expands the universe of the show with 100 new knowledge categories represented by contestants, ranging from: cultural and television references such as Operación Triunfo or the 70th anniversary of TVE, to The Lord of the Rings, Joaquín Sabina or skylines, alongside classic categories like flags and sports shields, as well as more unusual ones such as hypocoristics, obsolete words or traditional trades.
Following the success of its first season, The Floor returns with an even more striking and spectacular set design, now featuring one of the major innovations of this edition: a live studio audience, whose presence heightens the tension of every duel.
One of the key new elements this season is the introduction of a Final Duel per episode. This is a special, non-eliminatory showdown between the two contestants who have conquered the highest number of squares up until that moment. In this duel, players compete in a surprise category that’s not part of the board, and the winner is crowned episode champion, receiving a €5,000 prize in the first four episodes, increasing to €10,000 in the remaining ones. .
The format also introduces the voluntary Randomizer, a new strategic tool that allows the boldest contestants to step forward and offer themselves to play, adding an extra layer of risk and decision-making.
This season, winning the €100,000 cash prize will be harder than ever. To claim it, the two finalists must face each other in a best-of-three grand final duel, securing victory by winning two out of three showdowns.
Once again, the show is hosted by Chenoa, who returns for a second season and further consolidates her role at the helm of one of the most demanding game shows on prime time television. Her warmth, pace and ability to guide the tension of the game are key to the format’s success and its connection with both contestants and viewers.
According to data from consultancy The Wit, The Floor is the most adapted unscripted format worldwide in 2025, having reached an impressive 30 international adaptations.
In addition, The Floor has received three nominations at the Iris Awards —the most prestigious television awards in Spain—: Best Entertainment Programme, Best Direction and Best Entertainment Production, recognising the creative, technical and production excellence demonstrated in its first season.
