The Berklee-Trained drummer and composer is presenting this four-track jazz project shaped by the vibrant musical landscape of Boston.

Boston-based drummer, composer and producer Kerem Seçkin announces his upcoming EP City Sketches, a four-track jazz project shaped by his years at Berklee College of Music and the vibrant musical landscape of Boston.

Originally conceived as a series of small musical ideas, the project gradually evolved into a cohesive work reflecting fleeting moments, emotions and impressions gathered while living in the city. As the title suggests, City Sketches captures fragments of urban life, from the rhythm of crowded streets to quiet reflective moments.

Kerem Seçkin leads an international quintet on City Sketches, featuring Valerio Apuzzo (trumpet), Sen Yoshimura (alto saxophone), Leomar Cordero (piano) and Kapees Sukhavasi (bass), blending collective improvisation with carefully constructed compositions.

Across its four pieces, Illusions, Silver Linings, What I Hear and Patience — Seçkin explores modern jazz harmony while engaging with the tradition. Tracks such as Silver Linings subtly reference the harmonic language of Horace Silver, while What I Hear draws inspiration from John Coltrane’s harmonic systems.

Balancing intricate harmonic ideas with an organic, collaborative band sound, City Sketches offers an intimate musical portrait of a transformative period in the artist’s life.

Currently based in Boston, Seçkin continues to perform, record and compose while preparing for a move to Los Angeles, where he plans to further expand his work as a performer and producer.
