Banijay Americas bolsters its vertical-soap portfolio through creative ambition and new growth opportunities of Brazilian labels.

Endemol Shine Brasil and A Fábrica, both part of Banijay Americas, today unveil a groundbreaking partnership to create a slate of vertical-format microdramas.

The collaboration unites Endemol Shine Brasil’s creative leadership and market insight with A Fábrica’s proven strength in premium scripted production, with an ambition to create stories tailored for mobile viewing, digital platforms and brand ecosystems.

Under the partnership, Endemol Shine Brasil will lead productions and negotiations with brands and platforms, drawing on its long-standing expertise in delivering high-quality vertical storytelling. Meanwhile, A Fábrica will spearhead creative development and screenwriting across the new slate.

Endemol Shine Brasil recently delivered an 89-episode microdrama for a major vertical content platform, now in post-production. The company has also been greenlit for two additional projects, totaling 147 episodes. In parallel, two further productions are in development for Globoplay, in partnership with A Fábrica which is leading script development.

Nani Freitas, CEO, Endemol Shine Brasil, says: “Microdramas are a clear market trend, and we are proud to be among the first Brazilian production companies to invest at scale. As audiences embrace highly bingeable short-form stories, we remain focused on expanding our vertical soap slate with the quality that defines Endemol Shine Brasil. Our partnership with A Fábrica enhances the creative depth and allows us to broaden our exploration of the format.”

Luiz Noronha, Executive Director, A Fábrica says: “The rise of vertical storytelling reflects a major shift in how audiences consume content. It demands its own creative language and narrative logic and by bringing together our scripted expertise with Endemol Shine Brasil’s market acumen, we can integrate microdramas into our broader creative strategy.”

Endemol Shine Brasil brings far-reaching experience to the mobile-viewing format. Between 2023 and 2024, the production company produced over 10 microdramas in partnership with Kwai, spanning nine different brands including Coca-Cola, Honda and Skol, within TeleKwai’s mini-drama program.

In the last year, Endemol Shine Brasil renewed its partnership with Meta to produce vertical soaps developed specifically for brands like Comfort, reinforcing its strength in branded storytelling that organically integrates narrative, values, and culture in the entertainment landscape.

For A Fábrica, the partnership reflects an extension of its creative work, as the company expands into the digital vertical microdrama universe.

With 10 years in the industry, A Fábrica has a portfolio of over 30 projects, including feature films, series, and sitcoms, totaling over 800 episodes and over 450 hours of content.

By advancing further into vertical microdramas, the companies expand Banijay Americas’ scripted portfolio in Brazil and reaffirm its position as a powerhouse in innovation across the region. This move strengthens the integration between creation, production, and digital-first development, consolidating a more connected and strategically aligned creative ecosystem.
