The prize includes a production deal with Talpa Studios to develop the format, as well as a marketing package worth £20,000 across digital platforms, print, and C21 events.

From Lisbon, Content Europe announced the winner of the first edition of the Global Entertainment Formats Pitch.

The winner is the French travel format, Fluent in 40, from Wonder Circuit.

Fluent in 40 takes participants to France with a mission: to master the local language in just 40 days. To do so, they must face challenges such as working in a busy café or participating in a karaoke night. Throughout the season, contestants are eliminated, and at the end, the one who has demonstrated the greatest transformation wins a cash prize and an extended stay in the country.

The prize includes a production agreement with Talpa Studios to develop the format, as well as a marketing package worth £20,000 across digital platforms, print, and C21 events to support the format’s development and pre-sales promotion.

The judging panel consists of Jasper Hoogendoorn, Chief Creative Officer of Talpa Studios; Sumi Connock, Executive VP of Creative Network and Formats at BBC Studios; Niklas Vestberg, Head of Formats and Development at TV4; Nathalie Wogue, founder of Wogue Entertainment; and Niklas Vargö, Development and Intake Manager at Warner Bros. Discovery.
