Supernova: Genesis, the sports and entertainment event streamed live and exclusively on Netflix, made history by reaching a peak of over 6.5 million viewers on Netflix worldwide.

The event captivated over 5.5 million viewers (Live+1) during its four-hour broadcast on Netflix, dominating the cultural conversation and igniting social media.

“We are very proud of our peak viewership, but with Supernova: Genesis we achieved something even more impressive for a live event: maintaining the attention of more than 5.5 million people for over four hours; that’s remarkable for this type of event,” said José Lascurain, Director of Live & Unscripted Content for Netflix in Mexico.

The event was number one on Netflix’s daily Top 10 in 12 countries, including Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, and Peru, and entered the Top 10 in 18 countries, including the United States.

The event led the cultural conversation, generating more than 516 million first-party impressions and 18 million interactions across Netflix’s global social channels.

Supernova dominated 38 trending topics in Mexico on the day of the event, proving it was the social and cultural event of the weekend. #SupernovaGenesis, #Alana, and #SupernovaOnNetflixMercury were the most mentioned terms.

The stellar performances by Carín León, Óscar Maydon, and Ozuna, as well as the highly anticipated appearance of Bárbara de Regil, extended the excitement beyond their respective fan communities.

Celebrities such as Alfonso Herrera, Renata Vaca, Juan Pablo Fuentes, Dario Yazbek, Turbulence, and Pee Wee were among the audience.
