Mediahub continues to strengthen its presence in Latin America with several of its Turkish titles and is already anticipating new deals for Bitter Justice across the region. This was revealed to ttvnews by Elif Turna, who also highlighted the sustained performance of Alaca (Scars of the Soul) and the success of Stop Border Control Chile.
“Probably within a month, we will announce new deals for Bitter Justice,” Turna said regarding the negotiations the distributor is currently conducting in Latin America.
The executive explained that MediaHub has been working on the title with regional buyers since the beginning of the year.
“We have been in contact for a long time with many clients and buyers from Latin America, since Content Americas, to introduce our new title Bitter Justice. And so far, the feedback we’ve received has been incredible, both about the story and the characters,” she said.
“Buyers connected very well with the content, and they also shared very positive comments with us,” she added.
Turna also highlighted the strong performance of Alaca, marketed in Latin America under the title Scars of the Soul.
“It has performed excellently. In fact, TC from Ecuador informed us that even the reruns are still performing incredibly well, which is great news for us,” she commented.
According to Turna, MediaHub continues to strengthen its relationship with Latin American buyers amid a challenging market environment.
“In general, in Latin America there is this decline, as all my other colleagues are also mentioning. But at the same time, as MediaHub, we always try to stay in constant contact with our partners,” she said.
“With the help of our strong team, we can support buyers according to their needs. Because, as you know, these are also difficult times for them,” she added.
The executive also emphasized that the company’s experience in the Latin American market allows it to develop content specifically tailored for the audience.
“Kerim Emrah Turna, the founder of the company, has been in this industry for a very long time. That’s why he has analyzed the needs of Latin American audiences for years: what the must-have elements are, what works and what doesn’t,” she explained.
“That gives us the flexibility to create stories and characters designed specifically for this audience. We know the formula, we know what works and what doesn’t,” she said.
Turna also highlighted MediaHub’s operational flexibility with regional broadcasters.
“We are always flexible with our buyers and TV channels. When they need changes in terms of scheduling, we are always happy to adapt to their conditions,” she stated.
Asked about the possibility of incorporating Arabic productions into the company’s catalog, the executive said there is potential to replicate the success Turkish dramas achieved in the region.
“A few years ago, we had conversations about adding Arabic titles to the catalog. The production quality and the stories are excellent,” she commented.
“In the past, Turkish dramas were something new and not very well known in Latin America, but then they became very successful. There is a possibility that the same could happen with Arabic titles,” she added.
“I’m someone who believes in stories. Regardless of the country of origin, if the title is good, the story is solid, and the characters are strong, I believe it can succeed anywhere,” she said.
In formats, Turna also celebrated the performance of , recently licensed to .
“The latest license was with TVN Chile for Stop Border Control Chile, the new season. And they informed us that the title is performing really well, so we are in talks to produce a second season,” she revealed.
“The Border Control franchise has been a very interesting title for Latin American audiences because, considering the ongoing and current issues, it becomes very compelling content,” she concluded.
