The agreement will foster the production, financing, and promotion of animation in Spain, strengthening collaboration between the public broadcaster and the industry.
RTVE has signed a collaboration agreement with the Spanish Federation of Associations of Animation and Visual Effects Producers (DIBOOS) and Productors Audiovisuals Federades (PROA) to reinforce the development of Spanish animation through greater cooperation in the areas of production, financing, and promotion of audiovisual content.
The agreement was signed at Prado del Rey by the Secretary General of RTVE, Alfonso Morales; the President of the Board of Directors of DIBOOS, Nathalie Martínez; and the President of the ProAnimats association and, as such, also Vice President of the Board of Directors of the PROA federation, Iván Agenjo Castaño.
This agreement aims to improve coordination between RTVE and the main representative organizations of the sector to foster the growth of the animation industry, promote new projects, and contribute to increasing the quantity and quality of animated audiovisual works produced in Spain.
This is the first collaboration agreement that RTVE has signed with the independent production sector, demonstrating RTVE’s commitment to strengthening the production of children’s and family content, while also advancing the protection of minors.
Within the framework of the agreement, DIBOOS and PROA will collaborate on promoting the animation industry and will help to highlight RTVE’s role as a strategic partner in the development of projects. Furthermore, both federations will promote best practices among their member companies in areas such as equal opportunities, diversity, bullying prevention, the responsible use of artificial intelligence with full respect for intellectual property, child protection, and the training of new professionals.
With this agreement, RTVE reaffirms its commitment to promoting European animation and, especially, Spanish animation. In 2025, 73.75% of Clan’s broadcasts consisted of European works, a percentage that far exceeds the minimums established by current legislation. Within that figure, Spanish productions represented 41.48% of the channel’s programming, consolidating Spain’s position as the country with the largest presence in Clan’s offerings and reflecting RTVE’s commitment to the national audiovisual industry.
